Assembly

Key Points:
1) Cork grease - thin layer
2) Twisting motion to assemble
3) Hand Position - Don't bend the mechanism, and make sure the bridge key is lifted up by pressing the rings down on the upper joint
4) The joints should fit snugly - not loose at all, but also not too tight. Don't try to "break in" tenon corks by forcing joints together - they should be fit properly at a repair shop

Reed Placement

Key Points:
1) Ligature goes on first, with screws somewhat loose so there is room for the reed
2) Left thumb and index finger control the ligature while the other three fingers grip the barrel
3) Right thumb and index finger align the reed reaching around behind the mouthpiece
4) The reed needs to be centered (side to side) at both ends of the reed, and aligned evenly with the tip of the mouthpiece. Be meticulous and precise with your reed placement
5) Don't over tighten ligature screws, especially the top screw
